Show Me the Fun
My favorite memory was we threw a class party when we filled up our class jar with bubble gum balls. -Katie
My dad used to say that you have to say “yes” sometimes. If the answer is always no then they stop asking and stop listening. Classroom incentives like the one above always make me think of his idea.
The basic concept says if you are good and on task most of the time, we can eventually be completely off task and goofy and that will be ok. That is more than just something to hold over their head for the month or semester.
That shows the balance that is the goal of everyone. A litlte bit of play to go along with the hard work is what most of us are still trying to figure out in our lives. We can have that sweet utopia in our classrooms.
Why not?
Don’t forget to have a little fun, to inject a little of your personality into all that you do. It makes the hard times easier as much as it maintains the balance in your life.
Perhaps it will seep over into the time outside the classroom as well.
